Feather item in Minecraft

Present since 1.0 or earlier Stack size: 64 In 2 tutorials ↓

The Feather is dropped by Chickens, up to two each, and by parrots. It is the fletching of every arrow, and it goes into the brush, the book and quill and firework stars.

It cannot be crafted; it can be found in chests.

What it does

A feather under a stick under a piece of flint makes four Arrows, so a chicken farm next to a gravel pile keeps an archer supplied. A feather on top of a copper ingot and a stick makes the Brush used in archaeology.

Combined with a book and an ink sac, a feather gives a Book and Quill to write in. Added to a firework star, it gives the explosion a burst shape.

Cats sometimes bring a feather as a morning gift, and an expert Fletcher buys feathers for emeralds.
