Multishot enchantment in Minecraft
Multishot makes a crossbow fire three projectiles at once, fanned out to the sides, while using only one arrow or firework rocket. It has a single level and cannot be combined with Piercing.

What does Multishot do?

The two extra projectiles leave at an angle on each side of the one you aim. At range, the spread catches mobs standing in a group or a target that moves sideways. Only the middle arrow can be picked up afterwards; the two side arrows cannot.
Multishot with firework rockets
A crossbow can also load a firework rocket held in the offhand. With Multishot it fires three rockets for the price of one. Rockets made with firework stars explode on impact and hurt everything around, which makes this the crossbow's strongest attack against groups, such as a raid of pillagers and ravagers. A rocket without stars does no explosion damage. Keep your distance: the blast hurts you too.
Multishot or Piercing?
The two are mutually exclusive. Multishot covers a wide area and works with rockets. Piercing sends one arrow through a line of mobs, which suits corridors and farms. Most players pick Multishot. The best crossbow enchantments build pairs it with Quick Charge III, Unbreaking III and Mending.
