Announce a round
/title @a title {"text":"Round 1","color":"gold","bold":true}Big gold text appears in the middle of every player's screen.

/title displays large text in the middle of the screen, a subtitle below it, or a short line above the hotbar. Map makers use it to announce rounds, zones and countdowns, and to set how long the text fades in, stays and fades out.

Command generatortitle shows the big text at once. subtitle only stores the line below: it appears the next time a title is shown, so send the subtitle first, then the title. actionbar writes a line above the hotbar, handy for a live score or a hint. All three take JSON text, as with /tellraw, for example {"text":"Round 1","color":"gold"}.
times sets fade in, stay and fade out in ticks, with 20 ticks per second. The defaults are 10, 70 and 20 ticks. You can also write units, like 1s for one second. Send times before the title it should apply to. clear removes the title and subtitle from the screen, and reset does the same and restores the default times.
execute as @a[distance=..10] run title @s ....✓ Checked in Java Edition 26.3 · updated 2 November 2026
A subtitle only shows together with a title. Send the subtitle first, then the title command, and both appear at once.
Change the timing before showing it, for example /title @a times 10 100 20. The middle value is the stay time in ticks, so 100 ticks last 5 seconds.
Type it in the chat with cheats on: /title <targets> (actionbar|clear|reset|subtitle|times|title).
