Silence every sound at once
/stopsound @aStops every sound currently playing for all players.

/stopsound cuts sounds that are playing for chosen players: all of them, one category such as music, or a single sound ID. It is the counterpart of /playsound and the quick fix for a looping alarm, a music disc or background music that should go quiet.

A Jukebox plays in the record category, so stopsound @a record silences discs for everyone. Sounds of mobs, rain or a Bell come back as soon as the game plays them again. To keep an area silent, repeat the command from a Repeating Command Block or a /function.
