Minecraft 1.21.5 “Spring to Life”

Released on 25 March 2025, Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.5 Spring to Life is the first game drop of 2025. It adds warm and cold variants of Pigs, Cows and Chickens, biome-based Sheep colours, seven new plants such as the Firefly Bush and Leaf Litter, fallen trees and new ambient sounds.

The biome decides which variant of Pig, Cow or Chicken spawns. Cold Chickens lay Blue Eggs and warm Chickens lay Brown Eggs.

ItemsThe Lodestone is now crafted from 1 Iron Ingot surrounded by 8 Chiseled Stone Bricks and can be found in Ruined Portals.
