Bush block in Minecraft

Added in 1.21.5 Stack size: 64

A Bush is a leafy green shrub that grows in forests and plains as ground cover.

It can be composted: each one has a 30% chance to add a layer to a Composter.

What it does

It breaks instantly and drops itself only with shears or Silk Touch. Like grass it is replaced when you place a block over it, and it burns easily. Use it to fill gaps between trees and flowers.

Bush · FAQ

How do you get Bush in Minecraft?

Broken with Shears or a Silk Touch tool, the block drops itself; otherwise it drops nothing.

What is Bush used for in Minecraft?

It is a decorative shrub for natural landscapes.

Can you compost Bush?

Yes. Each Bush put in a Composter has a 30% chance to add a layer (the first layer in an empty Composter always works). After 7 layers the Composter gives Bone Meal.

Can a piston move Bush?

No: when a piston pushes it, it breaks and drops as an item.

Does Bush burn?

Yes: fire can spread to it and destroy it, and lava nearby can set it alight.
