Iron Door block in Minecraft
The Iron Door is two blocks tall and made from iron ingots. Iron doors and trapdoors cannot be opened by hand: they only move with a redstone signal.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 6 × Iron Ingot. It is mined with a pickaxe.
What it does
Clicking an iron door or trapdoor does nothing. Place a button, lever or pressure plate next to it, or power it with redstone, and it opens; when the signal stops, it closes again. That makes iron the material of secure bases and timed entrances.
Zombies, which can break wooden doors on hard difficulty, cannot break iron doors, and villagers cannot open them. Six iron ingots make three doors, and four ingots make one trapdoor.
