Release Java Edition Bug-fix update Patch of 1.8 Bountiful Update

Minecraft 1.8.2

Released on 19 February 2015, Minecraft Java Edition 1.8.2 is a large bug-fix update for 1.8, the Bountiful Update, tested over seven pre-releases. It fixes the explosion physics that had cut the range of TNT cannons, stops mobs attacking players in Spectator mode and adds 20 new statistics. It joins 1.8 and 1.8.1 servers.

Released 19 Feb 2015

Key takeaways

  • Spectator mode: hostile mobs no longer follow or attack players in Spectator mode.
  • TNT: explosion force is no longer biased by direction, and the 1.8 physics change that greatly reduced the range of some TNT cannons is fixed.
  • Statistics: 20 new statistics, such as Cake Slices Eaten, Chests Opened, Items Enchanted and Records Played.
