Create a team with a display name
/team add red {"text":"Red Team","color":"red"}Creates the team red, shown as a red "Red Team" in lists and messages.

/team groups players and other entities into teams with a color, a prefix and their own rules. Teams control friendly fire, name tags, death messages, collisions and whether invisible teammates stay visible. They are essential for PvP maps, minigames and colored glowing outlines.

Command generatorCreate a team with team add red, give it a color, then add members with team join red @p. Without members, join adds yourself. An entity belongs to one team at most, so joining another team moves it. Members can be players, any entity found by a selector, or plain names, like score holders. The team color tints names in chat and in the player list, and the outline of the Glowing effect. Prefix and suffix are text components shown around the name.
friendlyFire false: teammates cannot hurt each other.seeFriendlyInvisibles true: teammates with Invisibility stay visible as see-through figures.nametagVisibility and deathMessageVisibility: always, never, hideForOtherTeams or hideForOwnTeam.collisionRule: never turns off pushing; pushOwnTeam and pushOtherTeams limit it to one side.Select a team with @a[team=red] in /execute, or @a[team=!red] for everyone else. /teammsg sends a message to your team only, and the display slot sidebar.team.red of /scoreboard shows an objective only to teams with that color. team empty clears a team, and team remove deletes it.

No. Joining a new team removes the player from the old one automatically.
Put the entity in a team and set the color, for example with /team modify red color red. The Glowing effect then uses that color.
Type it in the chat with cheats on: /team add <team> [<displayName>].
Cheats on, or operator level 2.
