Amethyst Cluster block in Minecraft
The Amethyst Cluster is the final stage of growth: a full crystal formation that glows at light level 5. Amethyst buds and clusters grow on budding amethyst inside geodes, and only the full cluster gives amethyst shards when mined.
It is mined with a pickaxe and drops Amethyst Shard. It gives off light level 5.
What it does
Inside an amethyst geode, the walls are lined with budding amethyst. On each free side of those blocks, a small bud slowly appears and grows into a medium bud, a large bud and finally an Amethyst Cluster. Each stage glows a little more, and a cluster gives off light level 5.
Mining a cluster with a pickaxe gives four Amethyst Shards, more with Fortune; breaking it any other way gives two. Buds drop nothing unless you use Silk Touch. Since budding amethyst itself cannot be collected, the usual approach is to leave the geode in place and come back to harvest grown clusters.
Shards go into the Spyglass, Tinted Glass and the calibrated sculk sensor. Clusters and buds chime when hit or walked into, and they can be waterlogged.
