Cocoa Beans item in Minecraft
Cocoa Beans grow in pods on the trunks of jungle trees. They are the game's brown dye, they bake into cookies, and you can plant them back on jungle wood to farm more.
It can be composted: each one has a 65% chance to add a layer to a Composter.
What it does
To plant a pod, hold the beans and click the side of a jungle log or a block of jungle wood. It grows through three stages, from small and green to large and orange-brown; a ripe pod drops several beans, an unripe one only one. Bone meal speeds up the growth.
Crafted on its own, a cocoa bean gives one Brown Dye. Two wheat with a cocoa bean in the middle make eight Cookies, a small snack that is quick to eat.
Cocoa pods appear naturally on jungle trees, so a trip to a jungle is enough to start a farm. Beans also go into a composter.
