It cannot be crafted; it can be found in chests. It is mined with a hoe.
What it does
Mined with a hoe, it breaks fast and drops experience instead of itself; only Silk Touch keeps the block. The sculk around ancient cities hides sensors and shriekers, so walk carefully or sneak.
Sculk spread is also a way to farm it: kill mobs next to a catalyst and the sculk grows over nearby blocks, storing their experience.
