A Barrier is an invisible, unbreakable block used by map makers to fence off areas.
It cannot be broken in Survival.
What it does
It is only available through commands such as /give and shows as a red sign only when you hold one in creative mode. Players and mobs cannot pass through it, which makes it perfect for invisible walls in adventure maps.

This item has no crafting recipe.

Can you break Barrier?
Not in Survival: its hardness is -1, so no tool can mine it. Its blast resistance (3,600,000.75) also stops explosions.
